Hello boys and girls, welcome to my personal website
My name is Gauthier (pronunce: Go - tee - a) Brunet a.k.a. Uncle Ribs, I’m a french game designer. I’ve created this website to show my personality and my skills to the whole world (there may be some people interested).
I’ve spent my life among videogame and see them just like a second family (maybe this is too much ?). I remember when I was a kid, trying to sleep listening to my brother playing SRAM on the amstrad CPC in my bedroom or this christmas when I woke up and saw the incredible spider level in Mickey Mouse: Castle of Illusion. I’ll stop this stupid retrospective of my life now, I already see some people yawning.
I’m slowly walking on the road of the Game Design, trying to improve myself and find new challenge to beat. I’ve met during my first job at Ubisoft someone who would become my rival. He is Tsubasa and I’m Hyuga, he is Kyo Kusanagi and I’m Ryo Sakasaki (ok they are not rival but I really like Ryo !).
I’m now creating this place to store the boring usual stuff (cv, portfolio…) but also to post some articles, mostly about videogame. I will express through these a personal vision of this young but powerful media. I’ll try to attack it through two different angles. As a designer, I’ll look at game mechanics and the potential fun of games trying to show the eye of the professional ! (I’m just trying to convince myself) The second point of view is due to one of my personality trait. Game like every other entertainment create passion and disgust. I’ve been a political activist for the Sega Saturn all my highschool long, trying to show the superiority of Shining the Holy Ark against these stupid Sony exclusivity. I like being partial, stupid and using bad faith when talking about videogame. So you should expect for a radical final conclusion.
As a conclusion, I will expose some of my favourite games, I think it’s the simpliest way to show my taste.
